I’d always felt a little bit sorry for limpet shells; they aren’t the prettiest of crustaceans but there is something I admire about their strength and endurance. You can easily stand on one that is stuck to a rock and it will neither crack, nor budge! It carries out its job to the highest of standards. The creature living inside has nothing to fear whilst the limpet shell is near.

Wanting to give this arguably dull shell a bit of an identity boost, I decided to collect some on my next beach trip and scour Pinterest for some ideas on how to use them. Soon after, Christmas decorations were born. By stacking them, they look like little trees and I intend to add a Christmas themed trinket to the top. I wasn’t done there though as my imagination flourished and I began to think of other crafty ideas for how to use the humble limpet shell.
