Family at Christmas and introducing them to The Crafty Teacher

Cousins are boss aren’t they? A bit like siblings but with less rivalry and fewer arguments (when young of course- don’t argue with my sister now we’re grown up and ‘mature’). But once you are grown up and you have kids, those kids grow up and life moves on (quickly) there’s a tendency to drift apart. What you need then is the most sensible of the cousins (usually the eldest) to work some magic and organise a reunion. What better time to do it than at Christmas.

I have 10 cousins in total and special memories of them all but the ones I basically grew up with were my mum’s twin brother’s 3 daughters. After lots of messages via the ‘Cousins’ WhatsApp group, the get together actually happened and we even managed to get our parents there too. It was the most amazing and emotional day. Like time did not exist, we were immediately transported to the last time we were all together and could easily recall the many memories we had made together as well as life events that had shaped us over the past few years.

That’s where The Crafty Teacher comes in. It was nice to share this part of my life and I’ve now got a few more followers on social media and visitors to my website. I think I’m going to make a piece of art that shows the connection that cousins have. Time to get my thinking cap on.
